Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers stars, Fire win a close game, August 14th WNBA Recap
The first of two games last night was between the Dallas Wings and the Indiana Fever. The first quarter was won by the Fever by 2 (17-15), the second quarter was won by the Wings by 4 (37-35). The third quarter was won by the Wings by 1 (66-63). And then the Fever decided to take over and win this game 98-87.
Caitlin Clark led the way for the Fever with 29 points and ten assists. The trio of Kelsey Mitchell (23 points), Aliyah Boston (16 points), and Tyasha Harris (15 points) combined for 54 points. Great closing quarter for the Fever. Wings' Paige Bueckers played her part as she also scored 29 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Arike Ogunbowale scored 20 points on the night.

The second game of the night was between the Portland Fire and the Seattle Storm. The Portland Fire won the first half 48-36. The Seattle Storm won the second half 46-36 and the Fire won 84-82 in a close finish.
Holly Winterburn scored 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists to lead the way for the Fire. Three others scored 14 points each. For the Storm, Awa Fam led the way with 20 points and nine rebounds. Three others scored 12 points or more. Don't look now but the Fire have won three of their last four games.

Today there will be three games. At 1 pm EST, the New York Liberty play at the Connecticut Sun. At 7:30 pm EST, the Los Angeles Sparks at the Washington Mystics. And the final game of the night, the Minnesota Lynx play at the Las Vegas Aces (8 pm EST).
