The Argentina midfielder will leave Chelsea after three and a half years later after joining from the Benfica for £107m. Pending the medical, the clubs agreed for a Premier League record. Chelsea will get £18m in profit.

According to ESPN, Chelsea was asking for £120m back in late May. The Blues managed to get £5m more than their asking price. The talks over the last two days were the true difference in getting this deal completed.

Fernandez was booed by Chelsea fans in their friendly against Real Sociedad and Premier League opener against Fulham. And Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso left him out of their Carabao Cup win against Luton, citing it was better for him to not to be part of the squad. It was obvious Enzo was leaving but no one knew where until the last few days until Man City pushed for the deal.

Chelsea is now linked with two players; Roma's Manu Kone and Monaco's Lamine Camara.
