Aaliyah Edwards scores 26 points as the Sun win against the Sky

The (9-27) Connecticut Sun hosted the (14-24) Chicago Sky in the first game of the night. A back-and-forth start saw the game tied at 6 until the 3:54 mark in the first quarter. The Sun closed the quarter on a 10-2 run and took a 16-8 lead into the second quarter.


The second quarter saw the Sky shrink the Sun lead to 19-15 by the 7:17 mark. The lead stayed between four and seven until the 2:50 mark, when the Sun extended the lead to 34-25. Then, after the next minute, the lead grew to 42-29. The Sun held a 44-29 lead at halftime.


To start the third quarter, the Sun kept the lead around 15 until Diamond Miller hit a three that extended the lead to 19 (60-41) at the 5:51 mark. The third quarter was not the best for the Sky, as they trailed 71-53 heading into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter saw the Sun hold their big lead for the first few minutes. The Sky woke up and got the lead to 80-71 by the 4:49 mark. Then the lead was down to three at the 2:20 mark (82-79). A few clutch free throws from the Sun closed this game out, and they won 87-81.


Aaliyah Edwards led the way with 26 points and ten rebounds for the Sun. Diamond Miller had 21 points and five rebounds, and Kennedy Burke had 19 points, five rebounds, and five steals. Next up for the Sun is hosting the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday night.


Kamilla Cardoso had 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Azura Stevens had 18 points and five rebounds. Next up for the Sky is a trip to the New York Liberty on Saturday.
