Pietra Tordin Gets A Hat Trick, Sunday's NWSL Recap

If you like seeing goals scored, you will have to watch the highlights of Boston Legacy FC and the Portland Thorns FC. Seven goals were scored in this game, including a hat trick from Thorns FC Forward Pietra Tordin. All of her goals came in the first half, and so did six of the seven goals in the game. The Thorns won this game 4-3. This was a good performance for the Thorns to bounce back from their 5-1 loss against the Utah Royals.

On the other hand, if you like a defensive game, you would like this one. A 0-0 draw between Bay FC and Chicago Stars FC. Both teams had their chances to score, so this was a tightly contested game. Pretty equal game all around; Stars had slightly more possession, while Bay FC had more shots. Bay FC should feel they should have won, as they had an E.G. of 2.02. Bay FC also just signed Jenna Nighswonger from Arsenal WFC, so that is pretty big for them; she will make an impact quickly.

Now, if you combine the two, you will get the last game of the day. The game between Seattle Reign FC and Angel City FC ended in a 2-2 draw. Angel City had a slight advantage in possession and had five more corners. Other than that, both teams were pretty much equal. Sally Menti and Mia Fishel for Seattle and Gisele Thompson and Prisca Chilufya for Angel City scored goals. Honestly, it is a very important point for each team.
